Three design objects for the home

At the heart of the CAMPO Collection, three sculptural objects were carefully brought to life with designer Sam Baron during the residency promoted by Passa ao Futuro.

TOINO ABEL is a unique mission project.

Founded in 2010, we have rescued the nearly forgotten craft of Portuguese soft-rush basketry, which is deeply rooted in our family history. Today, we lead by example with our distinctive looms and exceptional working conditions, addressing the real issues that caused an entire generation to turn away from this field. Our commitment is to preserve this heritage for the long term. By dignifying this craft from within, we ensure the unmatched quality of our baskets, elevating this art form to its rightful place.

All our bags and projects are produced in-house, born from a labor of love. We are located in the same small village that has been home to this craft for centuries. Our atelier is open daily to visitors, providing a completely transparent experience.

Who is behind TOINO ABEL?

In 2010, artist Nuno Henriques set out to revive a nearly lost craft. Drawing inspiration from the reed baskets his great-grandfather made and the family heritage he carries, he founded TOINO ABEL, a tribute to his beloved grandfather.

What started as a quest to preserve tradition has blossomed into a celebration of Portuguese craftsmanship. Each piece is handwoven with the same care, skill, and creativity that have been passed down through generations. Today, Nuno's vision brings together artisans, designers, and storytellers, ensuring this timeless craft not only survives but thrives in the modern world.
